Closed on Sundays

Not sure if Hull’s Hepworths Arcade opens on summer Sundays but it was certainly closed last week!
The longest demolition ever?

I live a stones throw from Boothferry Park, or should I say what’s left of City’s former home. The bulldozers first moved in 2 years ago, then again in December 2009, as can be seen from the picture, their are still many tonnes of rubble left to remove along with the once tallest floodlights in [...]
Vik Revisited

I’ve had a few happy hours with my camera today, powered by my feet (foot spar please). I’ve posted images of the Vik statue before but I just can’t pass it without making a picture.
Can you see the Mast, Propeller & Ship?

Recent history certainly encourages interest in my blog entries, this shot was taken at the same time as yesterdays post, The Deep is a very clever building and to me definitely look’s like the hull of a ship.
A bit of History

The structure of Hull’s ‘Deep’ is nearly complete in January 2001, a lot of work had been done since this earlier image.
Platform 2010

Spent an interesting morning at ‘Platform 2010 – Hull’s digital and gaming event of the year’
The Chef

I met Andy a highly talented chef a few years ago, I bumped into him only last week. This portrait dates back to 2007 were he was working in a brand new purpose designed kitchen. It was between shifts allowing me a bit of time to set my lights up without getting in anybody’s way!
The Men of the Bowling Club

The men of the Holme on Spalding Moor bowling club take a break from pre season ground maintenance.
Lilly’s in the Sunshine

The Lake and water Lilly’s at Burnby Hall gardens, Pocklington. It will be a busy spot in a couple of weeks on the easter bank holiday.
Who ate all the Pie’s

I spent a very productive morning in Holme on Spalding Moor today, a lovely East Yorkshire village, a real village teeming with people. The picture shows David filling pork pies at A. Laverack & Sons, Butcher & Baker. Thanks for the complementary pie it was very tasty!.
Double Take

Time passes very quickly these days, this shot taken at last years Wetwang Scarecrow festival, the 2010 event is only a couple of months away.
Phone a Floor

Had a walk on Freeman Street in Grimsby yesterday, the first time in many years. I remember it as the hub of the town but it’s looking very sad at the moment. Who said the recession is over?
You won’t like me when I’m Angry

Looking through my early digital archive I came across a set of images taken for a training presentation about violence in the workplace. The shot is nine years old but using modern software I can now create effects that weren’t easily available when the original was made. I think I should add the aggressor in [...]
