You won’t like me when I’m Angry

Looking through my early digital archive I came across a set of images taken for a training presentation about violence in the workplace. The shot is nine years old but using modern software I can now create effects that weren’t easily available when the original was made. I think I should add the aggressor in [...]
Electricity

Here’s another shot from 2000, taken in the small electrical museum at Burton Constable Hall. Processed from the original camera JPEG file in modern software, the qualities not bad at all. D1 24mm f8 @ 1/8, ISO 200
Steel Skeleton

Here’s a shot from 2000 when the ‘soon to be’ most photographed building in Hull, The Deep, was in the early stages of construction. Shot on my first digital SLR the Nikon D1 and exotic Sigma 14mm lens, the files sizes and quality of these early digital files are laughable by todays standards, only 2.85 [...]
A Walk in the Woods TWO

A Walk in the Woods

Trees in Little Switzerland, an old chalk quarry now a woodland and park, located near the river humber, Hessle, East Yorkshire. As usual I can’t make my mind up which I prefer, black & white or colour so please enjoy them both. D700 55mm f2.8 @ 1/320s ISO 200

Gardner Paul Czaetwaki tending flowers in one of the estates glass houses. Brocklesby Estate, Lincolnshire Nikon D200, 24mm, 1/125 @ f7.1 iso 400
Seen on the beach

Theirs nothing like a walk on the beach in winter to clear the mind, and of course I took my camera. This is the coast at Hornsea were I grew up, my parents still live their, so when I visit them I usually take the opportunity to ‘See the Sea’.
All the Young Dudes

A lot of the photography I undertake these days involves children, older and vulnerable people which often prevents me from publishing them here. However on Wednesday evening I had the pleasure of covering a concert by Sidmouth School in Hull billed as the ‘Sidfactor’. The effort and industry the children put into their performances was [...]
The Next Prime Minister?

The Next Prime Minister? Who knows, but the leader of the Liberal Democrats certainly looks the part, we’ll be seeing a lot more of him on our TV screens over the next few months.
More Warmers

Well the weather for most of us is still pretty miserable, so here’s another image from the 2009 freedom festival were you could walk around the streets after dark in your shirt sleeves.
Something for Lunch

While the winter weather takes hold here in the UK, salad’s not on the menu in our house, I’m going to try and re create this beef stroganoff dish I originally enjoyed in Prague a couple of years ago.
I see no Wombles

As kids were all taught not to drop litter, yet my morning stroll uncovered all this in one visit to my local park.
More Snow on the Way

Most of the UK woke up to frost and snow this morning, this was the scene at the top of my street, check out the UK weather here: Met Office
The Bells Ring Out

I written on this blog before about the joys of being a photographer, meeting people, visiting places seldom if ever seen by the public, this job being one of those. Two loverly bell ringers who had turned out on a freezing winter day, only too happy to help me get the ‘winning shot’. We had [...]
Fresh after Christmas excess
After the excesses of Christmas day it was nice to get out of the house for some fresh air, I think everybody had had the same idea in Selby. More Selby images on Flickr
Winter sun over Nafferton Mere
WInter daylight is of course very short, but the good news is the days are now getting longer! roll on summer.
Merry Christmas to all my blog readers

Merry Christmas to all my blog readers, it’s only been running for a few months but I’m very encouraged from the positive responses I’ve received. Once again many thanks for taking a look.
